I came across this interesting article on the Wall Street Journal that talks about the rise of using webcams and programs like Skype to conduct interviews. This brings to mind a variety of things to consider when preparing for the interview: where will you go, what’s in the background, what do you wear… (a note to you interviewers: don’t wear pajama bottoms. A friend of mine has an interview over Skype and had to get up at one point during the interview, luckily she wore her full suit to feel more professional, rather than just the suit jacket!).
Here’s a link to the article on The Wall Street Journal website: Seeking Work? Ready Your Webcam. I’ll be interested to see if I have students coming in this year wanting assistance with this type of interview!
